Common Industrial Electrical Switches You Have To Be Aware Of

by industri on January 4, 2011

Since the advent of electrical revolution, switches are an invaluable part of any circuits as a means to control the passage of electrical currents. Industrial electrical switches are composed of high-end products that are designed for electrical controls of machineries that are found on the common industries. It is also used to regulate lights, sensors, detectors and other devices so that it will be active only when in demand. There are various types of switches used in the industry and knowing which you need most would probably lessen the cost you have to pay.

One of the common industrial electrical switches is pressure switches in which it operates by switching itself on or off by the difference in pressure applied on its sensor. It is usually found on water pump in which it regulate the amount of water that passes. If the pressure of the water is greater than the maximum settings of the switch, it would automatically goes off and therefore effectively limits the flow of water until no more flows.

Another useful industrial electrical switches are known as the vacuum switch in which it turns itself on or off depending on the presence of vacuum near it. It uses diaphragm action coupled with mercury metal to detect the presence of vacuum. Vacuum is a no pressure area so by law of physics other matter would push through it in which in this case, by mercury. By doing so, it can effectively watch for the maintenance of vacuum environment without the presence of a manual operator.
